We already know that since last year the whole world has been facing an economic and energetic crisis.

Yes, both are in strict relation, in fact while every one is struggling to pay the bills, the Big utility, oil and gas companies experience an increase of their profits.

This last sentence is the key to the crisis and must make you think a bit about what is going on.

But, there are even much more interesting things about this critical situation that you should be aware of.

For example in the past 30 years the US government has paid out $35 billions to cover medical expenses of coal miners suffering from black lung disease. Of course these $35 billions are not accounted in the cost of the energy production, hence utilities can

say that coal is the cheapest energy source.

BIG LIE.

Huge hidden subsidies are paid out also for environmental concerns, not accounted of course, in the production costs. We no longer can consider carbon emissions cost-free because it has been proven that a 500 MW coal fired power plant produces annually pollution equivalent to the emissions of 600,000 cars meaning tons upon tons of poison emitted.

And guess what, we breathe and eat this poison on a regular basis.

Same has to be said about oil, huge military expenses needed to keep opened the shipping lanes in the Persian gulf are -of course- not accounted in the oil prices and

as you know the government doesn’t pay peanuts to keep them opened.

Let’s dig only a bit for another great source that many people still consider interesting

- nuclear power.

The costs of potential damages that might result in an accident at a nuclear power plant are far too large for the insurance industry, so that governments act as insurers, above certain levels of cost. Whether you know it or not, accidents at nuclear power plants are not a rarity. But again this huge costs are not directly accounted within the production costs.

All this is just to scratch the surface of the problem that nowadays has a global proportion.

Do you really want to continue with this system?

It’s still time  to change things...
