As our environment continuous to deteriorate each day, it seems that every place we go is polluted. Pollution has become unwanted part of our lives and created numerous negative health effects. Just like humans, your truck is also subjected to dirty surroundings. As a result, its parts are clogged with dirt and unwanted materials, which will eventually decrease performance and efficiency.

One of the most common mechanical issues your truck will encounter is clogged fuel injector. This problem is exhibited when your truck won’t start easily or runs in a very rough and rugged way.  Other causes include overtime use and inactivity for long periods.

How Fuel Injectors work

When key ignition is activated, a small amount of fuel is spayed by fuel injectors in intake ports, where corresponding vaporization takes place; the resulting vapors are burned to produce energy for engine power. The injectors ensure that the sprayed fuels are extremely fine for an easier burn. Clearly, a problem develops whenever the injectors are incapable of spraying in an extremely fine form. This is attributed to dirt and foreign objects clogging the injectors. Another common problem is continous fuel spray whenever the injectors do not completely close.

Problem Diagnosis

If your truck refuses to start, its injectors may be stucked and unable to spray fuel. Fuel injectors by RJ performance are guaranteed to perform effectively for longer periods and enables proper fuel spray.

On the other hand, if you can turn on the ignitions but runs ruggedly, the cause may be incorrect fuel and air mixture. The tiniest discrepancy in the mixture will create firing cycle problems.

Automotive advancement led to invention of computerized sensors that monitors unused oxygen. Whenever there is too much or too little fuel in the mixture, these sensors also adds sufficient amount of fuel to the cylinders to create an even mixture.

Where did that dirt come from?

Fuel companies boast cleanliness and purity of their petroleum products.  Still, dust and dirt are able to enter your truck’s injection system. Fuel Filters by RJ performance will trap and remove all unwanted particles and impurities in your fuel.

Aside from dirt, injectors are also exposed to residues created by fuel evaporation on nozzles.  These sticky residues can be removed by revving up your engine for several minutes. If that does not work, cleaning agents will do the job.
