For a good while now the cost of living has been on the rise, we used to be able to focus all our resentment for this on one factor such as fuel for our cars, it was an inconvenience but at least it was only ever one facet of our life. Nowadays it’s not just fuel, its food, insurance, mortgages, credit cards and utilities in our home.

Going "green", the popular term for adding a bit of environmental responsibility to one’s life, is all the rage lately. Generally, such efforts encompass activities such as recycling, installing more energy-efficient appliances and foregoing single-occupant vehicles for commuting in exchange for busses or biking. Home security can be a very green affair, as well, and some of the best security measures require no electronics or electricity at all.
Exploration on renewable sources such as solar, wind and hydro energy has been already considered however the fact remains that these are not enough to meet the country's growing energy demands. Of course there is also the debate regarding the cost of these alternatives if governments are going to put up large scale power plants. Now the question is; how are we supposed to resolve the energy problem if we could not rely entirely with the above mentioned alternatives?

With gas prices rising worldwide and global warming gaining awareness, the need for alternatives is undeniable. It’s a new era of the automotive industry and couldn’t come a minute too soon. Green technology is today what the minivan was in the 80′s — life changing – and the next decade will set a new time in our history.
